After analysing a variety of software platforms available, the team decided to use the NopCommerce ecommerce system as the foundation for the project. Several parameters were considered when choosing the platform, and NopCommerce was chosen due to it being based on Asp.Net technology, and is and open source project. Setiri is a supporter of both .Net and open source technologies, so these are important factors to the company. Since Deadlywind is a manufacturer, a primary challenge with the project was to offer ecommerce functionality while maintaining a manufacturing website feel. Setiri is completing development of and will soon release a .Net WITSML software library as the first product in a series of WITSML centered tools and applications. The library provides a .Net native library for querying and updating WITSML server data simplifies implementing WITSML compatibility for new and existing software applications.
